Roaming ("Roaming," "we," "us") helps couples meet other couples for an evening out. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it plain. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@joinroaming.com.

1. Information you give us

When you and your partner set up Roaming, we collect:

Account details — the email address each partner signs in with. We use a one-time code sent to your email to verify it; we do not store a password.
Your details — your first name and age.
Your couple profile — a display name, short bio, home city, how long you've been together, the "vibe" tags and languages you choose, an optional Instagram handle, and an optional profile photo. This information is shown to other couples in the app.
Events and requests — events you host or ask to join, including the city, neighborhood, venue, date, and any notes you write.
Messages — messages you send in an event's group chat.
Ratings — ratings and private notes you leave after meeting another couple. Private notes are visible only to you.

2. Information collected automatically

When you use the app, our service providers may collect basic technical information needed to operate the service, such as device and log information and the date and time of requests. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

3. How we use your information

To create and run your account and shared couple profile.
To show events and couples to each other, and to let approved couples message within an event.
To send you the one-time codes and service messages needed to use Roaming.
To keep Roaming safe — preventing abuse, enforcing our terms, and responding to reports.
To fix problems and improve the app.

4. Who can see your information

Other couples: your couple profile is visible to other couples in the app. Your event group chats are visible only to the host couple and approved attending couples.
Your partner: the two accounts linked to your couple share one profile and can both edit it.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for third-party advertising.

5. Service providers

We use trusted providers to run Roaming. They process data only to provide their service to us:

Supabase — database, authentication, and storage. Your data is hosted in the European Union (London / eu-west-2 region).
Resend — to deliver sign-in codes and service emails.
Google Places — to help you search for and select venues when creating an event.
Expo / app-store platforms — to build and deliver the app.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we need to keep some of it to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email hello@joinroaming.com and we'll respond as required by law.

8. Children

Roaming is intended for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used Roaming, contact us and we will remove the account.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including access controls and encryption in transit, to protect your information. No service can be completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

10. International transfers

Roaming is operated with data hosted in the European Union. If you access Roaming from outside the EU, your information may be transferred to and processed in the EU and other countries where our providers operate, with appropriate safeguards in place.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
